Daily Spot Cleaning (2 Minutes)
- Remove poop as soon as you see it.
- Remove uneaten food (especially insects and fresh greens) before it spoils.
- Refresh the water dish with clean water.
Weekly Deep Clean (15–20 Minutes)
- Move your dragon to a safe temporary container.
- Remove all decor — hides, branches, water and food dishes.
- Dispose of and replace disposable substrate (paper towels), or clean solid substrate (tile) separately.
- Wash decor in hot water with a reptile-safe cleaner; rinse thoroughly.
- Disinfect the enclosure with a reptile-safe disinfectant, following the product directions.
- Rinse and dry everything completely before reassembling.
- Return your dragon only after everything is dry and temperatures have stabilized.
Safe Cleaning Products
- Reptile-safe disinfectants (like F10 or chlorhexidine) — the best choice; follow the dilution instructions.
- Dilute white vinegar — a gentle natural option for routine cleaning.
- Dilute bleach (1 part bleach to 10 parts water) — effective for deep disinfection, but you must rinse thoroughly and let everything air dry completely so no fumes remain.
